The band started in 2019 at the Kripta community space in Budapest; thus, the D.I.Y. ethos is deeply ingrained in both the band members' lives and music. Their demo tape was first published in September of 2022 by Szégyen Kazetták. Palánta's music balances between familiar punk tropes and psychedelic/progressive experimentation. The members come from bands such as Észlelés, Balta, Norms, Unholy Sativa, Power Flower and Piss Crystals (amongst others).
